Joslin
Davis is a principal in the law firm of Davis & Harwell, P.A. She is a
specialist in family law whose practice consists primarily of complex
equitable distribution cases in Winston-Salem, Charlotte, and surrounding
areas in North Carolina. Ms. Davis is rated AV by Martindale
Hubbell and has been named in Woodward/White, Inc.’s THE BEST
LAWYERS IN AMERICA for nearly 20 years. Ms. Davis is named one of North
Carolina’s top 50 women lawyers and top 100 lawyers in North Carolina
Super Lawyers magazine and in Business North Carolina, Legal
Elite in Family Law.
Ms. Davis has extensive
trial experience and has been a member of the American Board of Trial
Advocates for 20 years. She has held faculty positions with the ABA Family
Law Trial Advocacy Institute and as an adjunct professor of family law at
Wake Forest University Law School.
Ms. Davis is a Diplomat of
the
American College of Family Trial Lawyers, which is comprised of the top 100
family law trial attorneys in the nation. Ms. Davis served as chair of the
Family Law Council of the North Carolina Bar Association and on the Board of
Governors of the North Carolina Bar Association and the North Carolina
Advocates for Justice. Ms. Davis has been a member of the American Academy
of Matrimonial Lawyers ("AAML") since 1993 and is currently a Vice President
and Chair of the AAML Bylaws Committee. She is a past president of the North
Carolina Chapter of the AAML.
Ms. Davis is an
experienced arbitrator and mediator certified by both the AAML and
the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission.
Ms. Davis has been a speaker and
course planner on numerous occasions in matrimonial law and trial
law. She has lectured and written extensively on these topics and has
published numerous manuscripts, including with the ABA Family Law Trial
Advocacy Institute and Wake Forest University Law School, where she
graduated in 1977.
