Wade
Harrison is licensed to practice law in North
Carolina. Mr. Harrison was born in Asheville, North Carolina on May 25, 1954. Harrison graduated from Asheville High School in
1972, obtained a B.A. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1976, a J.D. from
the University of North Carolina Law School in 1979 and was admitted to the Bar of the State of North Carolina that
year. He served in various staff positions in the United States House
of Representatives in Washington, D.C. for four years before joining the law firm of Wishart, Norris, Henninger and
Pittman, P.A. in Burlington, North Carolina. Harrison is a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law.
Harrison served as a member of the Family
Law Council of the North Carolina Bar Association from 1994-1997. He
has served on the following committees in the Family Law Section: Membership, Alienation of Affection, Alternate
Dispute Resolution (chair), Legislative Committee (co-chair), Social Committee (chair), Long Range Legislative Task
Force (chair). He chaired the Family Law Section for the 1999-2000 term
and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Council as well as the Continuing Legal Education Committee.
Harrison
has lectured or provided manuscripts for continuing legal education on topics involving Alternative Dispute
Resolution, Ethics, and Fee Agreements for Legal Services.
He
has participated as a member of the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts Child Custody Mediation
Advisory Committee, State of North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission Ad Hoc Family Financial Committee and the
North Carolina Judicial Counsel Dispute Resolution Committee.
He
was admitted as a fellow of the AAML in July 2000 and became certified as an Arbitrator by the AAML in September,
2000. Mr. Harrison is currently President
of the North Carolina Chapter of AAML. He is admitted to practice in all North Carolina Courts and in
the Federal Court for the Middle District of North Carolina.
