Gary
Tash is licensed to practice law in North
Carolina. Mr. Tash is a native of Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey. Admitted to the practice of law in North Carolina in 1971, Mr. Tash devotes his practice entirely to
family law matters. He previously served as a District Court Judge in
the Twenty-first Judicial District (Forsyth County, 1976-1983) and as a member of the adjunct faculty at the Wake
Forest University School of Law, where he taught a course in juvenile law during the spring semester each year from
1988 through 1998. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in history
from the University of Virginia in 1968 and his Juris Doctor degree in 1971 from the Wake Forest University School
of Law, where he served as the case notes editor of the Wake Forest Law Review.
A
board certified specialist in family law since 1989, Mr. Tash has served as chairman of the North Carolina State
Bar's Family Law Specialty Committee, and as a member of the North Carolina Board of Legal Specialization, and
he is a frequent speaker at various continuing legal education seminars in the area of family law, especially on the
topic of child custody and visitation.
Mr.
Tash is a member of the Forsyth County Bar Association and has been a fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial
Lawyers since 1999. He is also a family law section member of the North Carolina Bar Association, of the North Carolina
Academy of Trial Lawyers and of the American Bar Association.
Mr.
Tash is admitted to practice in all North Carolina courts, the United States District Court (Middle District of
North Carolina), the United States Court of Appeals (Fourth Circuit) and the Supreme Court of the United States of
America. He has earned an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell, and he has
been listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the area of family law every year since
1995.
