Lana
S. Warlick is licensed to practice law in North
Carolina. Ms. Warlick is a native of Charlotte, NC. She was admitted to practice in North Carolina in 1976, after
receiving her bachelors degree in 1973 and her JD degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in
1976. Before opening her own law firm in 1985 she was a partner in the Jacksonville firm of Ellis, Hooper,
Warlick, Waters and Morgan. Since 1985 she has limited her practice to family law and now has two associates, both of whom practice exclusively in the family law area.
Mrs.
Warlick is a North Carolina State Bar Board-certified specialist in family law and a member of the American Academy
of Matrimonial Lawyers. She has been a member of the NC Bar Association, Family Law Section, ABA Family Law
Section, the NC Bar Association Alternative Billing Commission and has served as President of the Onslow County Bar.
Mrs.
Warlick has been a speaker at continuing legal education programs sponsored by the NC Bar Foundation, Wake Forest
School of Law and the NC Academy of Trial Lawyers. She has written and presented manuscripts on a wide range
of topics including Alternatives to Hourly Billing, Professional Responsibility and Attorney Fees, Equitable
Distribution: A Practical Application, Pre-Trial Discovery, Enforcement and Modification of Separation Agreements
and Absolute Divorce & Annulments.
Mrs.
Warlick has appeared in district and superior trial courts in eastern North Carolina and has appeared before the
North Carolina Court of Appeals. She has been named as one of the Best Lawyers in America each year
since 1987.
