Stephen C. Woodard, Jr.

Steve Woodard is licensed to practice law in North Carolina.  Mr. Woodard is a native of Smithfield, North Carolina.  He was admitted to practice in North Carolina in 1976, after having received his undergraduate degree from UNC-CH in 1972 and his J.D. degree from North Carolina Central University (Cum Laude) in 1976.  He is a partner in the law firm of Daughtry, Woodard, Lawrence and Starling.

 Mr. Woodard's practice is limited to family law, with special concentration on equitable distribution cases.  He is a North Carolina State Bar board certified specialist in Family Law, has held numerous mediations and is a former member of the Family Law Council of the North Carolina Bar Foundation.  He is a fellow of the Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.  He has formerly served as the state chairman of the Family Law Section of the Academy of Trial Lawyers and is a former course planner for the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers Family Law seminar.  He has been a speaker at North Carolina Bar Foundation Family Law seminars and has a spoken at a Wake Forest University Family Law seminar.  He was a member of the Curriculum Committee for Family Law for the North Carolina Bar Foundation as well as a member of the North Carolina State Bar Family Law specialization committee from 1988 through 1995. 

Mr. Woodard is certified as an arbitrator by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.  He has appeared in district and superior trial courts throughout central and eastern North Carolina and has appeared before the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court in his appellate practice.
